Statement

My studio practice and career path are akin to a highwire act without a net. I wouldn’t recommend this path to anyone. My work exists in a grey area between art and craft. It baffles most who see it, and it resists easy categorization. I didn’t plan this. It happened organically.

Although abstract at first glance, my installation work represents the fabric of my life. It is a narrative of living in color, and at times in stark black and white. Multiple horizons, terrains, spontaneous gestures, and the passage of time – all reflect my embrace of life with all its contradictions and extremes.

Sometimes a painting is a wall of color. Sometimes, it is a metaphorical garment. At times, it is an entrance to another world containing its own magical, transformative space.

I have done my strongest, most authentic work while detached from all outside influences, including my ego; moments when I got out of my own way and allowed my media room to roam and breathe.
